Wish Child Devan from Plattsburgh knew right from the start that he wanted to have a shopping spree wish. There were several items that Devan always wanted and his wish would make it possible.
Devan was diagnosed with x-linked retinoschisis, a disease of the nerve tissue in the eye and other serious health issues. He was referred to Make-A-Wish® by his mom, Susan. She knew that a wish would bring him much needed joy.
For his shopping spree, Devan and his family were taken by limo to Champlain Centre, a mall in Plattsburgh. Devan had never ridden in a limo before. “It was really exciting,” he said.
When Devan and his family arrived, they were given a warm welcome by all of the mall merchants. Among the items Devan wanted were an electric scooter and a new bike. In addition, Devan was able to buy a new TV and an Xbox. He stopped at his favorite store, GameStop, to pick out some video games to go with his Xbox.
When asked what his favorite part of his wish was, Devan exclaimed, “The whole shopping spree was my favorite part!”
