Emma, a 9-year-old from Ballston Spa, wished for a shopping spree. Alongside the fun-filled shopping spree, Emma even had her own dressing room when she visited the Justice Store in the Wilton Mall!
Shopping can be an adventure, and for Emma, a Make-A-Wish shopping spree was the best adventure ever!
Emma’s mother Kim said that her daughter planned carefully what she wanted, and the staff of the stores involved help to make it very special. Emma arrived at the Wilton Best Buy in a limousine and was welcomed by cheering staff. After lunch at Friendly’s, Emma visited the Justice Store in the Wilton Mall, where the nine-year-old even had her own personalized dressing room.
Emma has a rare genetic disorder called mitochondrial disease, which affects the energy production within the body’s cells. Her condition made the day a tiring but happy one, her mom said. Among the items that Emma selected during the day were clothes and accessories, a video camera, game unit, an iPod Touch, and the latest Apple iPad. “It was a great day, and Emma was really excited,” said her mom, who added “we really appreciated it.”
